FRANKLIN DONAHOE – SENIOR WARDEN

The Lodge’s number two officer,
Franklin Donahoe
is an information security officer for a national
telecommunications company in the Pacific Northwest. He comes from
a family background that has been always active in community
service. He was President of the Associated Students of the
University
of Washington
where he graduated with a degree in Political Science and
Economics. He then
went on to further his education at Carnegie Mellon University
where he received two Masters of Science degrees, one in
Information Systems Management and another in Public Policy
Management. He has also been on a number of different community
boards. His leadership
abilities have proven to be unquestioned.
Daylight’s support of the Arts and its
community involvement attracted him to seek membership. He
petitioned for membership in early 2005; finished his degree work
October 15, 2005. The
next year he became an officer when appointed to his first office as
Steward in 2006-2007, He moved the next year to Senior Deacon and
then in 2008 was elected Junior Warden.
Donahoe was born in Houston, Texas and served
time in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Personally Donahoe has a philosophy about
Masonry that requires each Mason to be accountable and responsible
for country, state, county and the homes we live in.
“There is no reason to complain about the country we build
unless we ourselves fulfill our obligations to one another and our
fellow man. The
principles of this country are ours, and when our County deviates
from those principles it is out duty to bring it back.” Also he
says, “Masonry (especially in our Lodge) is fun.
And that’s the way it’s supposed to be! Freemasonry is
supposed to bring men of different belief, cultures, races and
ethnicities together in a common place, with a common creed.
Don’t be fooled disagreement happens, but the strength of our
brotherhood is shown in the peaceful resolution.”
Masonicly he continues to be a leader; he is
the current President of the District No. 5 Lodge Officers and
Members Association, a second year in the office.
Grand Master Gale Kenney named him the Grand Lodge Technology
Committee for 2009-2010.
His principle lodge responsibility is to always be ready to step up
and run the lodge in the absence of the Worshipful Master. He will
also supervise the yearly Daylight Bandstand and Masonic Information
booth at the yearly Fremont Solstice Festival Street Fair June
19-20, 2010. He is also
a member of Doric Lodge No. 92 in Fremont and University Lodge No.
141 in Seattle University District.
He is the proud father of a young son and
daughter.
